Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Real Madrid could line up for Wednesday's Champions League last-16 first leg with Chelsea at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti should be working with a near fully-fit squad for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Chelsea on Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The holders are only working with one injured player in the form of Ferland Mendy, who picked up a calf issue in training at the end of March and is not expected back in time for the first leg.

With the Frenchman confined to the medical bay, David Alaba could revert to a left-back role in the Blancos backline, where two former Blues players in Antonio Rudiger and Thibaut Courtois will both start.

Eder Militao should displace Nacho Fernandez after being benched for the weekend's loss to Villarreal, while Champions League regular Dani Carvajal is a contender to come in for Lucas Vazquez at right-back.

Toni Kroos and Luka Modric will expect immediate recalls over Marco Asensio and Dani Ceballos, while Aurelien Tchouameni's spot in the number six role could also come under threat.

Eduardo Camavinga played every minute of Los Blancos' last-16 wins over Liverpool, and the 20-year-old could very well displace his compatriot in a new-look midfield.

Federico Valverde could land himself in hot water with the law after allegedly punching Villarreal's Alex Baena at the weekend, but the Uruguay international is currently fine to line up alongside Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema, who has scored each of his last 10 Champions League goals against English clubs.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup: Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Rudiger, Alaba; Modric, Camavinga, Kroos; Valverde, Benzema, Vinicius Jr
