Jose Mourinho: 'Chelsea weren't ruthless enough'

Jose Mourinho says that his Chelsea team should have put 10-man West Bromwich Albion to the sword in the 2-0 Premier League victory at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho has admitted that his Chelsea side were not at their ruthless best in this afternoon's 2-0 win over 10-man West Bromwich Albion.

The Blues boasted a numerical advantage for over an hour at Stamford Bridge after Claudio Yacob was red carded for a 29th-minute challenge on Diego Costa.

However, the Premier League leaders failed to build on goals that Costa and Eden Hazard had earlier scored.

"It was comfortable but I thought in the first half we played amazingly well. In the first half we have to be 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 up. But the quality of our football was there," Mourinho told BBC Sport.

"We made the pitch very wide, we created spaces in the central area, and the result should be better than 2-0. We are playing well."

Mourinho's side stretched their lead over second-placed Southampton - who have a game in hand - to seven points by beating the Baggies.
