John Terry hails "important" victory against Stoke City

John Terry says that Chelsea "were in control of the whole game" as they recorded a 2-0 victory over Stoke City.

Chelsea captain John Terry has praised his teammates following their 2-0 victory against Stoke City this evening.

The Blues moved three points clear at the top of the table thanks to goals in each half from Terry and Cesc Fabregas.

"It is a very tough place to come but the goal early on gave us a platform to build on and from then on we were in control of the whole game," he told Sky Sports News.

"Manchester City have come from nowhere and the good teams around us can put a run of games together. So it was an important win for us tonight. We are taking it game by game."

Chelsea have now won their last four games in all competitions.
