John Terry pleased to end Premier League title drought

Chelsea skipper John Terry admits that it is a relief to end the club's five-year wait for the Premier League trophy.

Chelsea captain John Terry has admitted his fear that he would not win another Premier League title with Chelsea.

The Blues clinched this season's title with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, five years after their last crown.

Terry says that it was not easy to see other sides finishing top of the pile in that time.

"It's been five years since the last title - too long," Goal.com quotes the centre-back as saying.

"When you're seeing other teams win it, when you're pushing them right to the end, like we did last year, well, at times, I did wonder whether that one in 2010 would be my last one.

"It's felt like a long time, watching other teams do it. Manchester City came in and dominated for a couple of years, as well, and that's hard to take when you've won it before and don't for a while."

The title is Jose Mourinho's third with Chelsea and the first since he returned to Stamford Bridge in 2013.
