German defender Antonio Rudiger found Chelsea's initial contract offer 'disrespectful', according to a report.

Antonio Rudiger reportedly found Chelsea's initial contract offer 'disrespectful', as the centre-back's future at Stamford Bridge continues to be called into question.

The Germany international's current deal in London is due to expire next June, and the Blues have thus far been unable to come to an agreement with the defender over an extension.

As it stands, Rudiger would be free to hold talks with foreign clubs at the start of 2022, and Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are thought to lead the list of interested clubs.

According to Sport1, Chelsea's initial contract offer was seen to be 'disrespectful' by the centre-back, who signalled that he was not prepared to sign the deal on the table.

The report, though, claims that the 28-year-old is still open to penning an extension at Stamford Bridge, as he is enjoying his football under current head coach Thomas Tuchel.

Rudiger has been a vital player for the Blues since Tuchel's arrival as head coach, while he has been a constant in the Premier League and Champions League this season.
