Real Madrid, Barcelona showing interest in Chelsea's Billy Gilmour?

Real Madrid and Barcelona are reportedly monitoring the development of Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour, who starred against Liverpool earlier this week.

Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Earlier this week, Gilmour impressed against Liverpool on just his third first-team start, earning widespread praise for his performance during the 2-0 victory in the FA Cup fifth round.

While the 18-year-old is now expected to remain in the Blues senior squad, the teenager is being linked with a future move elsewhere, including Manchester City with Pep Guardiola likely to have approved of the Scot's display in midweek.

However, according to El Desmarque, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also monitoring the situation ahead of a possible bid for the prospect.

Gilmour has a contract at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2022-23 campaign, leaving it highly unlikely that Chelsea would consider any approaches for his signature.

Nevertheless, it appears likely that many of European football's top clubs will continue to assess his development.
