Mark Sampson: 'Winning is most important thing'

England women's coach Mark Sampson says that he just wants to win games, regardless of whether they are entertaining.

England women's coach Mark Sampson has said that he does not care how his team win, as long as they win.

England are bottom of Group F in the Women's World Cup after losing to France 1-0, and on Saturday they face a tough match against Mexico.

"If the players win the World Cup, that would be the biggest boost the women's game could ever get," Sampson told BBC Sport. "If we can do that playing in an entertaining way, fantastic.

"We can't afford to lose this game. I'm not sure it's a must-win game, but it's definitely a must-not-lose game.

"We're really confident that if we bring our maximum, foot-to-the-floor football, fifth-gear football, this England team and this England performance will be good enough to get us on the board and put us in a good place in the group."

Mexico drew their opening game 1-1 against Colombia.
