Jack Rodwell has said that he is delighted to have made his senior international debut.
The Everton midfielder replaced Phil Jones to receive over half an hour of football against the world and European champions as England edged out Spain 1-0 at Wembley.
"It's a proud moment for me. As a kid I always dreamed of making my senior debut and tonight I've done that," Rodwell told Sky Sports News.
"To make it against the world champions and get the win - it was a perfect night all round."
The 20-year-old will now hope to progress under Fabio Capello and subsequent managers to become a key player for the Three Lions in the future.
"I've made my debut tonight, I'm really pleased but I can't look too far ahead. I've just got to concentrate on my club form now," he added.
Rodwell has already made 80 appearances for Everton, scoring 4 goals.
