Laurent Blanc targets one win at Euro 2012

Laurent Blanc sets his French side the target of winning just one match at this summer's European Championships.

Laurent Blanc has played down suggestions that France are one of the contenders to win the European Championships this summer.

Instead, the boss has set his side the target of winning just one match at the tournament.

"Seventeen months after the disaster of South Africa, some people believe that if we are not in the semi-finals, we will have failed. I do not think so. Our aim is to win a match, we are under construction," Blanc told Le Monde.

Blanc believes that Euro 2016, hosted in France, is a much more realistic target for success for Les Blues.

"If we have an opportunity to win it, we will do that of course. The real deadline for French football is Euro 2016 because we will have had time to prepare and there will be a true cohesion around this event in France," he added. "There, you go and ask the Blues to win the Euros."

France are the same group as co-hosts Ukraine, England and Sweden.
