David Meyler excited to visit Stadium of Light

David Meyler admits that he is looking forward to seeing familiar faces when Hull City face Sunderland on Saturday.

David Meyler has admitted that he is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces when he travels with Hull City to face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

The 24-year-old ended a five-year spell with the Black Cats when he joined Hull in 2012 and says that he will be desperate to pick up a win against his former side.

"I spent nearly five years there and made a lot of good friends," Meyler told Hull's official website. "I still speak to a lot of the players there, some of the coaching staff as well as people who worked in the kitchens and some of the cleaners.

"Come Saturday, I only want to go up there to win and get three points with Hull City."

Meyler struggled with injuries during his Sunderland career, meaning he could only make 31 competitive appearances for the club.
