Landon Donavon: Los Angeles Galaxy missed David Beckham

Los Angeles Galaxy captain Landon Donavon believes that his side missed the creative spark of David Beckham during their 1-0 defeat to Sporting Kansas City.

Los Angeles Galaxy captain Landon Donavon believes that his side missed the creative spark of David Beckham during their 1-0 defeat to Sporting Kansas City.

Beckham, who was reportedly angered when he was replaced in last week's 3-1 loss to New England Revolution, missed the latest defeat because of an assortment of injuries, including back spasms.

Galaxy, who are the reigning MLS Cup Champions, currently sit bottom of the Western Conference following three defeats in their opening four games.

Donavon is hoping that the former England skipper will be back in the side as soon as possible.

The ex-Everton forward said: "When David isn't in the lineup that definitely hurts our ability to create chances."

Beckham was hit by a beer can earlier in the season.
