Nigel Pearson admits to Leicester City survival doubts

Nigel Pearson admits that he questioned Leicester City's survival credentials more than once this season.

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has admitted that he doubted whether the team would survive in the Premier League at times this season.

Having been at the bottom of the table for long periods of the campaign, the Foxes secured their top-flight status on the weekend with a 0-0 draw against Sunderland.

Despite staying up with a game to spare, Pearson concedes that his side's form earlier in the season made him question their credentials.

"I've had moments, of course," he told Sky Sports News. "I'd be lying if I was going to stand here and say at no point did it cross my mind. We've had some really difficult times this season.

"We've had some pretty bad runs this season in terms of picking points up but I can honestly say throughout it we've played with an intensity and desire which has always been there and that's probably one of the big things that's kept the players going."

Leicester wrap up their Premier League campaign on Sunday when they welcome Queens Park Rangers to the King Power Stadium.
