Liverpool are reportedly confident that Philippe Coutinho will be fit for this weekend's Premier League match against Swansea City.

Liverpool are reportedly confident that playmaker Philippe Coutinho will be fit for this weekend's Premier League match against Swansea City at Anfield.

The Brazilian suffered a hamstring problem during the Reds' 4-1 rout over Manchester City on Saturday.

There were initial reports that the injury was worse than first feared because the club reportedly needed a second opinion, but it is now believed that Liverpool's star player will not face a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

According to ESPN, the Merseyside club now believe that Coutinho will be back in the team for Saturday's match against Swansea, but the 23-year-old is likely to be absent from Thursday's Europa League match against Bordeaux.

Coutinho has scored four goals in his last three Premier League appearances.
