Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has dropped out of the Croatia squad with an ankle injury.
The 28-year-old was not part of the Reds team that earned a 5-0 rout over Watford at Anfield on Saturday.
Now, according to the Liverpool Echo, Lovren has been forced to pull out of international friendlies against Peru and Mexico in Miami and Dallas respectively.
Lovren has had a mixed season so far in terms of performances as he jostles with Joel Matip over who will be Virgil van Dijk's regular partner in defence.
The Croatian has started 27 games in all competitions this season, 20 of them in the Premier League.
