Daniel Sturridge eager to put "best foot forward" as he returns from injury

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge claims that he is not worried about getting injured on the pitch, as long as he can do his best for his side.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has claimed that he is not worried about getting injured on the pitch, as long as he can do the best he can for his team.

The 25-year-old was on the bench for the Reds' Premier League clash against West Ham United on Saturday after spending almost five months out with a thigh injury.

Sturridge told BBC Sport: "I'm not worried about the injuries - I'm just putting my best foot forward, working as hard as I can with the boys and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

"Pressure comes with the territory, and you have to embrace it. You live for these moments in life, to be able to get back to playing and to hope to have some success.

"We've been playing very well and we've been unfortunate in a lot of games. Now I'm raring to go and can't wait to get back out there."

Liverpool are currently eighth in the Premier League table.
