Monday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:
Kylian Mbappe 'wants to leave PSG, interested in Manchester United, Liverpool'
Kylian Mbappe has reportedly informed Paris Saint-Germain that he wants to move to another club in the future.
Due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, none of European football's top clubs can currently afford a world-record bid for the France international
PSG sporting director Leonardo has acknowledged that he will look to take advantage of the situation by offering Mbappe a contract extension, tying the World Cup winner to the Ligue 1 champions past 2022.
However, according to The Times, the 21-year-old has his sights set on a transfer to a club in the Premier League or La Liga.
The report suggests that Mbappe is open to the idea of signing for Liverpool or Manchester United, while speculation regarding a potential switch to Real Madrid will not go away.
Despite the prospect of lower offers being made next summer, PSG are unlikely to agree to a sale over the coming weeks.
Jamie Carragher hits out at "disrespectful" clamour for Liverpool Thiago deal
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has claimed that the clamour for the club to sign Thiago Alcantara is "disrespectful" to the current midfielders in the team.
Jurgen Klopp's side have been heavily linked with the treble-winning Bayern Munich midfielder in recent weeks, but so far their only summer signing has been left-back Kostas Tsimikas.
A madcap 4-3 opening-day victory over Leeds United at Anfield on Saturday only increased calls for the Reds to add to their title-winning squad, and while Carragher believes that they will want to move on "three or four" more players, he also urged supporters to keep faith in the current crop.
"Liverpool have got three or four players in the squad they are looking to move on. It seems like they have to sell before they buy, that was the case with Dejan Lovren. He had to leave before a left-back could come in," Carragher told Sky Sports News.
"Thiago would give Liverpool's midfield something different, no doubt. Liverpool lost their best player [Philippe Coutinho] to bring [Virgil] Van Dijk in and the goalkeeper. There's no point buying for the sake of it, but I do feel they need someone to supplement the front three.
"I think the huge clamour for Thiago is a little bit disrespectful to Liverpool's current midfield three. Yes he would add something different. But if he doesn't come in, it's not the end of the world, this is still a fantastic midfield for Liverpool."
Thiago has asked to leave Bayern this summer, but is also reportedly wanted by Manchester United and Barcelona.
