The Football Association has contacted Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli over a recent post that he made on social media.
The Italian apologised on Monday after he posted an image on Instagram that some critics deemed to be racist and anti-Semitic.
Balotelli, 24, has until 6pm on Friday to deliver his observations to the FA.
Reports have suggested that the controversial forward could be banned for five matches if he is charged by English football's governing body.
