Tim Howard has warned Liverpool that he and his Everton teammates are ready to end a five-year hoodoo and win Sunday's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
The Toffees' last derby-day victory came against a Roy Hodgson-managed Liverpool in 2010, with Howard and co failing to win any of the subsequent 10 meetings.
Nevertheless, the USA goalkeeper says that Everton - who have won 12 points from a possible 21 so far - are mentally prepared to break their duck against the Reds.
"We have to continue to concentrate on our performance," Howard is quoted as saying by The Mirror. "Mentally, we're resilient, we're tough and the squad is as deep as it's ever been.
"More so than ever, we're ready to perform and get the win. But it's every week we feel that way, and it's not something that will change for us."
Howard has won just three derbies in his nine years at the club.
