Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly prepared to stay at Anfield despite interest from Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old is arguably a living legend in Merseyside after graduating through the Reds' academy and making 316 appearances so far over eight years.
Alexander-Arnold was a stalwart during the Jurgen Klopp era at Anfield, helping Liverpool to their first-ever Premier League title, as well as the Champions League crown in 2018-19.
Under the new stewardship of Arne Slot, the defender has started brightly, providing a single assist across five top-flight appearances in 2024-25.
There has also been a change for Alexander-Arnold on the international scene, with new England manager Lee Carsley deploying the Liverpool star at right-back after his midfield experiment under Gareth Southgate.

Liverpool handed major boost in Alexander-Arnold saga?
According to Football Insider, Liverpool have been given a major boost if they wish to retain the services of Alexander-Arnold past the conclusion of this season.
The report claims that the defender is more than happy to remain at Anfield for the foreseeable future, despite interest from some of Europe's top clubs.
It is understood that 15-time European champions Real Madrid are keen on bringing Alexander-Arnold to the Bernabeu in the summer, with Los Blancos building a team of modern-day galacticos under the reign of Carlo Ancelotti.
Despite admiration from the Champions League holders, it is believed that the right-back's preferred option is to sign a new deal at Anfield.
The ball is supposedly in Liverpool's court in terms of negotiations, with Alexander-Arnold wanting assurances that the club can match his ambitions of consistently winning trophies.

Trent alternatives and putting out fires
With Alexander-Arnold's current deal on Merseyside expiring in the summer, Liverpool are unsurprisingly eyeing up potential replacements.
It has been reported that the Reds are keen on Jeremie Frimpong, who was a key part of Bayer Leverkusen's unbeaten campaign in the Bundesliga during 2023-24.
There are also contract fires for Liverpool to put out elsewhere in the squad, with both Mohammed Salah and Virgil van Dijk into the final years of their respective deals.
Additionally, there is a question over the future of in-form Luis Diaz, who is set to enter negotiations over a new contract following Slot's approval.
