Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with defender Joe Gomez over an extension to his contract at the club.
The 21-year-old has established himself as a key member of Jurgen Klopp's starting XI so far this season, making 12 appearances across all competitions and featuring in all nine Premier League games.
The youngster has mainly featured alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool defence, helping the club to their best-ever start to a season defensively.
Gomez last signed a new contract with the Reds in January 2017, and the Liverpool Echo reports that the club are now keen to reward his progress with improved terms.
Liverpool are understood to have begun negotiations with Gomez's representatives over a long-term extension in order to tie him to the club for the foreseeable future.
The England international has made 53 appearances for the club since joining from Charlton Athletic in 2015, 31 of which came last season.
