Shinji Okazaki admits that he is pleased to be playing for Mainz following his summer transfer from Stuttgart.

Mainz 05 forward Shinji Okazaki has revealed that he is optimistic about his future at his new club having signed from Stuttgart at the end of last month.

Despite pulling out of his first training session after taking a knock in a tackle with Niki Zimling, Okazaki said that he is enjoying being with the team.

"I'm really looking forward to my time here and training under [coach] Thomas Tuchel and with this team," Bundesliga.com quotes Okazaki as saying.

"The bruise isn't bad either. It's just what happens in the Bundesliga."

Okazaki played for Stuttgart for two years and scored 10 league goals during his time at the club.
