Real Madrid injury, suspension update vs. Manchester City - Rodrygo emerges as a doubt

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their Champions League clash with Manchester City.

Real Madrid will be bidding to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League when they head to Manchester to tackle Manchester City in the second leg of their quarter-final.

The last-eight contest is delicately poised following a 3-3 draw in the first leg at Bernabeu last week.

The capital giants will enter this match off the back of a 1-0 victory over Mallorca in La Liga, and they have an eight-point lead over second-placed Barcelona ahead of El Clasico next weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Man City, who beat Luton Town 5-1 in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Possible return date: Unknown

Courtois underwent surgery on an ACL injury last August; the club's number one goalkeeper had been in line to return at the end of March, but it was revealed before the international break that he had suffered another knee injury in training, leading to a season-ending operation.

Alaba suffered an ACL injury against Villarreal on December 17, and the Austria international will not be available for Real Madrid until the 2024-25 campaign.
