Joe Hart plays down Lionel Messi praise

England goalkeeper Joe Hart insists that he is not getting "carried away" after being described as a "phenomenon" by Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

England goalkeeper Joe Hart has insisted that he is not getting "too carried away" by Lionel Messi's recent praise of him.

Messi hailed Hart as a "phenomenon" following the recent Champions League last-16 second leg between Barcelona and Manchester City at Camp Nou, in which the England number one made a string of one-on-one saves.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper acknowledged the Argentine's praise, but stressed that he would not let it go to his head.

"I am not going to get too carried away with it. He is a fantastic player and for him to comment on me is great but I'm not getting carried away," Hart told reporters.

Hart is currently on international duty with England and would reach 50 caps for his country should he play against both Lithuania and Italy.
