Erling Braut Haaland breaks a 92-year scoring record after finding the net in Manchester City's 2-1 Premier League win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Erling Braut Haaland has broken a 92-year scoring record after finding the net in Manchester City's 2-1 Premier League win over Fulham on Sunday.

The Norwegian striker and Premier League's top scorer has already broken several records during his debut season with the Citizens and has written his name in the history books once again with a strike in his latest outing.

Less than three minutes in to the contest at Craven Cottage, Julian Alvarez was brought down by Tim Ream inside the penalty area, and Haaland stepped up to whip a left-footed spot kick into the bottom corner.

Carlos Vinicius restored parity for Fulham in the 15th minute, before Alvarez netted what proved to be the match-winner when he rifled a stunning strike into the top corner from outside the area nine minutes before half time to help Pep Guardiola's side move to the top of the table with a game in hand.

Haaland's latest strike has seen him move onto a remarkable 50 goals in just 44 appearances across all competitions, becoming the first player competing in the English top flight to score half a century of goals in a single season since Tom 'Pongo' Waring for Aston Villa in the 1930-31 campaign.

City's No.9 has also surpassed former Tottenham Hotspur striker Clive Allen who netted 49 goals in all tournaments during the 1986-87 season.

Haaland's strike against Fulham was his 25th first-half goal for City across all competitions, while the other 25 have all been netted in the second half.

In addition, the 22-year-old - who recently broke the Premier League scoring record in a 38-game season - has drawn level with both Andy Cole and Alan Shearer for the most goals ever scored in a single Premier League campaign (34).

Both Cole and Shearer netted 34 times in the 1993-94 and 1994-95 campaigns respectively, which were both 42-game seasons, while Haaland has reached the same goal tally after just 29 matches this term in a 38-game campaign.

Haaland will be looking to break the all-time Premier League scoring record in a single season when Man City welcome West Ham United to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.

Dixie Dean's record of 60 league goals for Everton back in 1927-28 appears to be safe, though, but his all-tournament scoring record of 63 goals in 41 games during the same season could potentially come under threat, with Haaland's City side still to play a minimum of nine fixtures across three competitions this season.

List of the Premier League's all-time record goalscorers in a single season:

34 goals: Andy Cole (Newcastle United – 1993-94 – 42-game season)
34 goals: Alan Shearer (Blackburn Rovers – 1994-95 – 42-game season)
*34 goals: Erling Braut Haaland (Manchester City – 2022-23 – 38-game season)
32 goals: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool – 2017-18 – 38-game season)
31 goals: Alan Shearer (Blackburn Rovers – 1993-94 – 42-game season)
31 goals: Alan Shearer (Blackburn Rovers – 1995-96 – 42-game season)
31 goals: Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United – 2007-08 – 38-game season)
31 goals: Luis Suarez (Liverpool – 2013-14 – 38-game season)
