Micah Richards completes Fiorentina move

Micah Richards completes his move from Manchester City to Serie A side Fiorentina.

Micah Richards has completed his move from Manchester City to Serie A side Fiorentina on a season-long loan.

The 26-year-old is the club's longest-serving player, having signed as a youngster in 2001 before making his debut four years later.

However, he has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium, with Pablo Zabaleta the first-choice right-back and summer signing Bacary Sagna also providing competition for places.

Richards was pictured in Florence earlier today ahead of a move to Fiorentina, and he has now completed the temporary transfer to the Serie A outfit.

The loan is understood to have cost La Viola in the region of £3.6m, which could rise to £4.7m if they opt to sign him permanently.

He becomes the second English player to make the move from the Premier League to Serie A this summer, following Ashley Cole's switch to Roma.

Richards has made 245 appearances for City, the last of which came when he captained the side in the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.
