Pep Guardiola confirms Leroy Sane, John Stones interest

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirms that he is interested in signing Leroy Sane and John Stones from Schalke 04 and Everton respectively this summer.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that the club are looking to sign both Leroy Sane and John Stones this summer.

City have been chasing Sane for much of the transfer window, but they have so far been unable to come to an agreement with Schalke 04 for the 20-year-old German international.

Schalke are thought to be holding out for a bid of around £42m, while it could take a world-record fee for a defender to prise Stones away from Everton.

"Sane is a player from Schalke. If he comes, we'll be happy. If he stays, I'll be happy for the Schalke fans," Guardiola told reporters.

When asked about his interest in Stones, Guardiola added: "It's the same answer for Sane - he's a player for Everton. Everyone knows we're going to try but we will see."

City are also thought to be closing in on a move for Palmeiras striker Gabriel Jesus.
