Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is reportedly determined to bring Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele to the Etihad Stadium in this summer's transfer window.
Ndombele, 22, is regarded as one of the best young central midfielders in European football and Manchester United have recently been credited with an interest.
However, according to The Sun, Guardiola views Ndombele as the perfect successor to Fernandinho, who has been outstanding this season but will turn 34 before the end of the campaign.
The report has claimed that the reigning Premier League champions are prepared to pay £70m to land Ndombele, who has also previously been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus.
The four-time France international, who has made 33 appearances for Lyon this season, has a contract with his Ligue 1 club until the summer of 2023.
