New Manchester United signing Ander Herrera has revealed that his fellow Spanish countrymen Juan Mata and David de Gea convinced him to move to Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old, who was heavily linked to the Red Devils last summer, signed a four-year deal with United yesterday after paying his own Athletic Bilbao buyout clause, which is said to have been around £30m.
"I know they are very happy," Herrera told MUTV. "I was talking to them and they told me that this is the biggest club in the world and that we have a very good squad. We are very good friends and I am sure that they will help me to adapt and get to know the club."
Meanwhile, widespread reports have claimed that United are closing in on a £30m move for Southampton left-back Luke Shaw.
