Ashley Young insists that he and his Manchester United teammates will switch focus to the FA Cup following their Champions League disappointment.

Ashley Young has insisted that he and his Manchester United teammates will try to put all their energy into getting into the FA Cup semi-finals following Tuesday's disappointing Champions League exit.

Jose Mourinho's side were beaten 2-1 by Sevilla in the last-16 stage, with the killer blow coming at Old Trafford.

The manner of United's defeat has attracted plenty of criticism from fans and pundits alike, but Young wants to switch focus to this weekend's FA Cup quarter-final tie against Brighton & Hove Albion.

"When you don't score goals, you don't win the game," the Daily Mail quotes Young as saying. "When you concede, it's obviously hard to get yourselves back into the game.

"We obviously scored the goal to get us back into it, but there wasn't enough time. It's obviously disappointing, there's a lot of disappointment in there, but you have got to dust yourselves down and take the disappointment into the weekend.

"We've got another cup competition we've got to go and play for and we want to get ourselves back to winning ways and into the next round in that competition."

The FA Cup remains United's only chance of winning silverware this season.
