Cardiff City eye Federico Macheda?

A report claims that Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to sign Manchester United striker Federico Macheda.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly attempted to raid Manchester United for a third time this month.

The former United striker, now manager of Cardiff City, secured the services of Wilfried Zaha and Fabio da Silva from the champions earlier today.

With only a few hours left before tonight's 11pm deadline, Solskjaer is also keen to sign United striker Federico Macheda, according to the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old made a positive impact during his debut season with the Red Devils back in 2009, but since then he has failed to establish himself at Old Trafford and has had several loan spells away from the club.

Earlier this season the Italian spent time with Doncaster Rovers in the Championship.
