Borussia Dortmund urge Jadon Sancho to force a move away from Manchester United this summer, according to a report.

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly urged Jadon Sancho to force a move away from Manchester United during this summer's transfer window.

The England international returned to BVB on loan in January after the breakdown of his relationship with Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag.

Sancho has made three appearances for the German outfit in his second spell at the club, providing two assists, although he was absent against Heidenheim last time out through injury.

As it stands, the 23-year-old will head back to his parent club at the end of the season, and he has more than two years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford.

Sancho's career at Man United could allegedly still be revived if he issues an apology to Ten Hag, but it is thought that he will leave permanently this summer, with Dortmund keen to bring him back to the club on a long-term basis.

According to German journalist Christian Falk, writing for CaughtOffside, Man United want between £40m and £50m to let Sancho leave permanently at the end of the campaign.

Dortmund cannot afford that price, though, and Falk has claimed that the Bundesliga team are "relying on Sancho to put United under pressure".

The ex-Manchester City youngster played in his English club's first three Premier League matches of the campaign against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest.

However, he was a notable absentee against Arsenal at the start of September, with Ten Hag claiming that poor performances in training had led to him being left out.

Sancho hit back on social media after the match, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat", and having refused to apologise, he was removed from the first-team picture entirely.

A number of clubs were linked with a loan move for him, but Dortmund won the race to re-sign a player who initially represented them between 2017 and 2021.

Sancho has found it difficult to make his mark at Old Trafford, only managing 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances in all competitions.

The forward's Man United future is likely to depend on what happens with Ten Hag, as the Dutchman's position at the helm is far from secure.

In total, Sancho has played 140 times for Dortmund, scoring 50 goals and registering 66 assists, and he is believed to be keen to secure a return to the club on a permanent basis.
