Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal reportedly hold discussions with the agent of Barcelona forward Ansu Fati.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have reportedly held talks with the agent of Barcelona forward Ansu Fati.

After working his way through the ranks at Barcelona's prestigious La Masia academy, Fati has gone on to make 89 appearances for the first team, registering 25 goals and nine assists.

However, injuries have hampered his progress in recent seasons, and while he has featured in all 31 of Barcelona's competitive games this season he has only been included in the starting lineup on seven occasions.

Fati is under contract with the Catalan giants until June 2027, and the club have the option to extend his deal by a further two years.

Despite having a long-term contract, his future at Barcelona has recently been called into question.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have all held discussions with the player's agent Jorge Mendes.

The conversations were believed to be about Fati's personal terms, should a move to the Premier League prove possible in the future.

The report suggests that Fati's situation at Barcelona will depend on how much playing time he receives in the second half of the season.

However, Barcelona club president Joan Laporta has recently played down reports that Fati's agent has spoken to prospective clubs.

Laporta told reporters: "His representative has been in Barcelona these days. But Ansu is a Barca player and we have high hopes.

"We have no news that we want to make moves. He is a loved person and a player with whom we have high hopes.

"Right now we are not considering it [selling Fati]. I cannot predict the future. For us, Fati is a player with whom we have great hopes. It all depends on whether he is useful for the club and for Xavi.

"He has generated a lot of expectations and we are not willing to sell the player at this time. I want the players to be there for as long as they have been signed.

"His representative has let us know that he has interested clubs. But we have no news that the player wants to leave. We will do what suits the club, but he is an interesting player in the market."

Barcelona boss Xavi has also claimed that Fati is "non-transferable", telling reporters that the Spain international is an "important player".
