Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik believes that his side are still capable of winning the Serie A title this season.

Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik has insisted that his side can still catch Juventus and win the Serie A title.

The top two in Italy met on Friday night, with Napoli missing the chance to close the gap in a heated 1-1 draw at the San Paolo.

Walter Mazzarri's side trail Juve by six points with 11 games to play, but Hamsik believes that their title target is still achievable.

He told the club's official website: "The distance between us remains the same, but the end of the season is still a long way off.

"We started the game well and then reacted to find the equaliser after their goal.

"We tried to double our tally, but we were unable to do so. There is still a long way to go this term.

Napoli begin a run of games against teams in the bottom half of Serie A next weekend with a trip to Chievo.
