Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has revealed that he was elated to score his first goal at St James' Park in his side's crushing 6-2 victory over Norwich City.
The 21-year-old notched an important strike in the match as his effort in the second half provided the Magpies with a two-goal cushion, which allowed them to see out their first win of the campaign.
Mitrovic told the club's official website: "It is always an amazing feeling to score a goal but even more so here at St James' Park. I can't put it into words properly - you need to score goals to feel it.
"I have said before that goals are like a drug. If you score one, you want more and more, and that is how I feel now. I will keep working hard to score more goals.
"It has taken me a few games to do it but I am happy and proud to score and hear the noise from the crowd, celebrating my goal. This is why I chose this league and this club. Football is amazing here and there are so many goals. It is really interesting to watch and to play in, and I love being here at Newcastle."
Steve McClaren's men moved up to 18th place in the Premier League as a result of their win.
