Loic Remy backs Newcastle United to finish in top six

Newcastle United on-loan striker Loic Remy believes that the club are good enough to finish in the top six of the Premier League this season.

Newcastle United on-loan striker Loic Remy is confident that the Magpies can have a successful season.

The North-East outfit were close to falling into a relegation battle during the 2012-13 campaign, but did enough to keep their place in the top flight.

This time around, Remy believes that there is enough quality in the team to have a positive campaign, despite the club failing to bring in a host of new faces in the summer window.

"We have a big chance this season and a chance to get into the top six if we win," The Chronicle quotes Remy as saying. "It will be a difficult game but we have that big chance because of the amount of quality in this team.

"My teammates here are focused on the same wavelength as me. I'm very optimistic about the season. Last season was difficult for this club. This season everybody wants to help the club grow again. We can do a good job together."

Remy signed for the Magpies from Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan in the summer.
