Chris Hughton has praised Leroy Fer for the way the midfielder has adapted to Premier League football, and believes that he was "excellent" in the 0-0 draw against Manchester City.
According to the Canaries boss, Fer - who joined in the summer from FC Twente - took time to adjust to the tempo of the English game, but is now showing what he can do.
"I thought Leroy was excellent. He's still adjusting. This is a player that was brought up in the Dutch League, they play very different in midfield and in most occasions he would have played in a three in midfield," Hughton told The Mirror.
"There have been ups and downs. He was good for us against City, he hasn't always been that good. It's about adjusting. He's only missed two games this season. He's come from a different way of playing.
"He's had to adjust to the tempo of what we have here and if you're a central midfield player in the Premier League, it's a different tempo to anywhere. Overall, we've been delighted with the way he's adjusted."
Norwich are 16th, two points above the relegation zone.
