Former Nottingham Forest captain John McGovern has claimed that there is a "buzz" around the club following their strong start to the season.
Forest are level on points with Norwich City at the top of the Championship table after going unbeaten in their opening 11 matches of the campaign.
With confidence high at the City Ground, McGovern is hopeful that Stuart Pearce's side can gain promotion to the Premier League this year.
"There's a buzz about the club and long may it last," he told the club's official website. "The biggest goal of course is winning promotion, but at the moment we're right at the very top.
"Confidence is high, the players respect those they're playing with, there's a lot of quality in the squad and the team spirit is evident for everyone to see."
Forest are back in Championship action on Saturday when they travel to South Wales to face Cardiff City.
