Ryan Nelsen expects Queens Park Rangers to build quickly once they negotiate the obstacle of securing their first Premier League win of the season.

Queens Park Rangers defender Ryan Neslen believes that it is only a matter of time before the Hoops reverse their disappointing start to the season.

Mark Hughes's side have failed to win in their opening five Premier League matches this season, and were knocked out of the Capital Cup in midweek thanks to a 3-2 defeat by Reading.

Nelsen told the Daily Mail: "We definitely have the characters we have in the dressing room. When one [victory] happens it will be like a monsoon after that.

"Obviously the Reading game was a big disappointment but that happens. It's pretty ruthless in the cup competitions and the league.

"It just takes time for players to come in to it and kind of get into the mould of how he wants us to play. That's life."

QPR continue to search for their first league win of the season on Monday night when they host West Ham United in a London derby.
