How Real Madrid could line up against Celta Vigo

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Sunday's La Liga clash with Celta Vigo.

Real Madrid will be looking to make it four straight wins in all competitions when they travel to Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday night.

Los Blancos have beaten Melilla, Real Valladolid and Viktoria Plzen in their last three fixtures across three separate competitions.

The European champions are still down in sixth spot in La Liga, but are only four points off second-placed Espanyol, and will be looking to continue their recent turnaround with a win against Celta.

Madrid will fancy their chances as well when considering that Celta have only been victorious in one of their last eight in Spain's top flight.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Madrid, who still have a number of injury problems, could line up in Vigo on Sunday night.

POS RMA XI

Out: Dani Carvajal (calf), Raphael Varane (abductor tear), Jesus Vallejo (hamstring), Marcelo (torn muscle)
Doubtful: Mariano Diaz (muscular)

It might be a case of 'same again' for interim Madrid boss Santiago Solari when it comes to his back four. Indeed, Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Jesus Vallejo and Marcelo are still all on the sidelines, meaning that options are limited.

Nacho will continue alongside Sergio Ramos at centre-back, with Alvaro Odriozola and Sergio Reguilon both enjoying the chances handed to them in the full-back positions.

Luka Modric and Marco Asensio were both left on the bench for Wednesday's 5-0 win at Plzen in the Champions League, but the pair should return, with Dani Ceballos and Lucas Vazquez expected to drop out.

Toni Kroos, Casemiro, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema were on the scoresheet in the midweek European match and will continue in the XI, with exciting youngster Vinicius Junior providing an attacking option from the bench.
