Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has been taken to hospital in Milan tonight after suffering a knee injury on international duty.
Khedira limped out of Germany's 1-1 draw with Italy following a heavy challenge on Andrea Pirlo, landing awkwardly before being replaced by Sven Bender on 66 minutes.
Germany medical staff quickly decided that the Madrid man needed further tests on the knock and accompanied him to a hospital near the San Siro, according to Spanish publication AS.
Joachim Low's side are now waiting for the results of an MRI scan, but Khedira is highly unlikely to feature in Tuesday's friendly against England at Wembley.
The 26-year-old has been a consistent feature for Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti's regime, playing 14 times so far this season.
