Granada 1-2 Real Madrid

A late own goal gives Real Madrid a hard-earned victory at Granada.

La Liga champions Real Madrid claimed a late win over a dogged Granada at the Estadio Los Carmenes this evening.

The hosts took a surprise fifth-minute lead when Franco Jara finished off a swift counter attack by tucking low.

Madrid, who had already sewn up the La Liga crown, offered little in response in the opening 45 and went in behind at the interval.

It was Granada who again looked the more threatening in the opening minutes of the second period but they couldn't take their chances and remained a slender goal ahead.

They were made to pay when the visitors' top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo was brought down in the box by Moises Hurtado. The Portuguese forward stepped up to level the scores from the spot and set up a tense final ten minutes.

Jose Mourinho's side got their winner in the 92nd minute when the unfortunate David Cortes diverted into his own net.
