Gremio president Paulo Odone has revealed that Real Madrid have made contact regarding the transfer of defender Mario Fernandes.
The 21-year-old is a reported January transfer target for Real coach Jose Mourinho, although Odone has confirmed that the Spanish club have yet to submit a formal offer.
"There were some talks with Madrid in November, but we never talked about money because we want Mario to stay," he told Marca.
"We do not want to sell him and he does not want to leave either. He is very happy here and he does not have to leave."
Fernandes recently turned down a call-up to the Brazil squad, claiming that he had personal problems.
