Valencia defenders Nicolas Otamendi and Shkodran Mustafi are both on Real Madrid's transfer target shortlist, a report claims.
Otamendi has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United this summer but the Red Devils have yet to make a formal offer for the 27-year-old.
AS now claim that Real have spoken to the Argentina international's agent Jorge Mendes over a potential move and were told that Valencia will demand a transfer fee of €50m (£35m).
After learning of the fee, manager Rafa Benitez has turned his attention to second-choice target Mustafi, who also has a contract release clause of €50m (£35m).
The former Everton youngster is said to welcome Real's interest but is happy to continue playing at the Mestalla, while Otamendi is reported to want to leave the club.
