Wales manager Chris Coleman has conceded that Gareth Bale is unlikely to feature for 90 minutes during his side's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Serbia.
The 24-year-old, who became the world's most expensive player when he joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur two days ago, has missed the majority of pre-season because of a foot injury.
He has since recovered from that problem, but a lack of match action has resulted in Coleman being cautious over his availability.
"He's not carrying an injury as such, but he's not fit in terms of considering him for 90 minutes. He's going to be training with us this afternoon," the coach told Sky Sports News.
"He's had a lot going on, both physically and mentally, but he's with us and that is the main thing. We will monitor how he is over the next two or three days. Is he going to start on Friday? I think that is a big question and a big doubt."
Bale is expected to make his Madrid debut after the international break during the La Liga match against Villarreal.
