Seydou Doumbia has revealed that he spoke to Premier League clubs this summer before opting to return to CSKA Moscow.
The Ivory Coast striker joined Roma from CSKA in January but has been loaned back to the Russian side, admitting that he 'felt lost' in Serie A.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United were all linked with Doumbia, but he says that moving back to CSKA was the best option for him.
"I had contacts with English clubs, but CSKA was the best solution," Doumbia told African Top Sports.
"I wasn't happy for this reason and I wanted to come back. Since the first day in Rome I didn't feel good. Now I'm back to CSKA Moscow and I'm happy again. I'm still owned by Roma but I have no intention of going back."
Doumbia scored 61 goals in 96 games during his first spell at CSKA.
