Mauricio Pochettino praises "brave" Southampton

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino praises his "brave" side as they triumph with a 1-0 away win at Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has praised his "brave" side as they triumphed with a 1-0 away win at Crystal Palace in the Premier League this afternoon.

The Saints gained three points from their away tie thanks to a first-half goal from forward Jay Rodriguez.

"Our mentality never changes, it's always to win. We were brave, industrious and outgoing. We were facing a side in dire need of points but we did well and were aggressive to get a result," Pochettino told reporters after the game.

"Jay scored a very important goal for us. He was brave and I thought it reflected our display well.

"We are coming off two league defeats and it was important to end that. We just want to keep growing and developing."

The win sees Southampton sitting in ninth position in the Premier League table.
