Harry Kane admits that the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room has been unsettled by a transfer window of uncertainty in which several key players tried and failed to leave.

Harry Kane has admitted that the Tottenham Hotspur dressing room has been unsettled by a transfer window of uncertainty.

Mauricio Pochettino left several key players out early on in the season following their failed attempts to leave the club, including Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

The Champions League runners-up have endured a testing start to the campaign as a result, with just two wins from eight games across all competitions so far, and Kane has suggested that the events that unfolded over the summer have affected the team's form.

"Obviously in the transfer window just gone, there were players who maybe wanted to leave, and it was public knowledge that there were players close to leaving who stayed," Kane told Sky Sports News.

"So it's never easy when you have a situation like that, but now that's closed, we all just want to move in the right direction.

"Whoever is on the pitch has to give everything for the club, that's all we can ask for. You have to kind of put your individual needs to one side and make sure you're performing to the highest level, because that will help your individual status anyway."

Tottenham's next game is at home to Southampton in the Premier League as they look to get their season back on track.
