Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says that his team can still win the Premier League title this season.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that his team can still win the Premier League title this season, despite 10 points separating them from leaders Chelsea.

Spurs are currently fifth in the Premier League table after 17 matches, just one point shy of fourth-placed Arsenal, but six draws have seen them fall double figures in terms of points behind in-form leaders Chelsea.

Pochettino, however, is still confident that his side, who are next in action away to Southampton on December 28, can challenge for the crown this term.

"I think it is realistic because the gap is ten points, but it is realistic because there are a lot of games to play. So I think we can achieve that and we can fight for the title at the end of the season," Pochettino told reporters. "That is up to us – belief and to be ambitious. We must try to give our best, to try to improve every week and every game."

Tottenham have won three and lost two of their last five in the league, with both defeats occurring on their travels.
