Aston Villa have reportedly been tipped as one of the favourites to complete a deal for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier in January.
The Englishman has been consigned to the periphery under Mauricio Pochettino this season, making just two starts in all competitions.
Reports have suggested that Pochettino will include Dier on the list of players who could leave in January when he meets with chairman Daniel Levy to discuss transfer business.
According to the Birmingham Mail, the newly-promoted side are well poised to secure a move for Dier once the January transfer window opens.
Dier, who moved to Spurs from Sporting Lisbon in 2014, has made a total of 210 appearances for the North London club.
Villa splashed out a total of £130m on transfers over the summer, securing deals for 12 players including Wesley Moraes, Tyrone Mings and Douglas Luiz.
