Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has praised his side's game management skills following the club's 2-0 victory over visitors Burnley in the Premier League.
First-half goals from Jonathan Walters and Marc Muniesa were enough to give the Potters their fifth win in seven games, leading coach Hughes to applaud the manner in which his side controlled the contest at the bet365 Stadium.
"We performed superbly well in the first half and then the second half was more about game management and making sure we defended well as a group, which we did," Hughes told reporters after the game.
"I get a lot of pleasure from us doing that because it shows all the elements and characteristics of a really strong-minded group of players, which is what I have here.
"We see ourselves as a top-10 club so we have to maintain these levels now and try to build on the fact that we have suffered just one defeat in nine."
Stoke now occupy ninth place in the Premier League standings after 14 games played this term.
